Framing Options
We offer two styles of custom framing. Standard frames, or fully handmade frames.

Standard Frames
These frames are made in Japan direct to your specifications, and offer a large variety of frame styles and matte types. We’ll work with you to figure out a design and send you a mockup before proceeding.
Turnaround time is usually about a week.
Prices start at ¥10,000.

Handmade Frames
These frames are made by an architect turned wood artisan, based in Saitama. They are carefully designed with your input, often using an eco-friendly “no waste” style, where no metal is used and every part of the frame is made from a single cut of wood.
There may be a waiting list.
Prices start at ¥15,000.
Standard Frames

If you’re unsure what style you’re after, we can offer some suggestions based on your artwork and the intended display space.
All frames come with UV reducing acrylic; we prefer this to glass for safer shipping and display in earthquake prone Japan.
Prices start at about ¥10,000 + ¥2,000 shipping within Japan (before tax) for an A4 sized frame.
Contact us with your image and size details and we’ll get you a quote! We can of course offer artwork printing at the same time.
Custom Handmade Frames
These extremely high quality frames are made by Paco from Patio Workshop in Saitama, just outside of Tokyo. Paco will work closely with you and can provide detailed sketches so that you know you will be getting something perfect. He even loves having visitors to his idyllic workshop, and also offers woodworking courses.
